Matthew M. Haffner
Matt Haffner received his Bachelor of Arts in English from the
University of Puget Sound, where he served as the editor of
several publications. He received his Juris Doctorate from
Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Mr. Haffner serves as
an Arbitrator and Mandatory Settlement Conference Officer
for the Superior and Municipal Courts of Ventura County.
His areas of concentration include all aspects of insurance
defense litigation, with an emphasis on general liability and
construction defect litigation.
Mary Milner Haffner
Mary Haffner received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. She maintains a general litigation practice with an emphasis on environmental and administrative law. Mary has been a Trustee of the Ventura Unified School District since 2005 and sits on various non-profit boards including the Ventura Education Partnership and the Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance. For the last few years, Mary's legal work has been limited to pro bono assistance to non-profit environmental organizations.
P. Mark Kirwin
Mark Kirwin is a skilled communicator and problem solver, facilitating understanding of complex issues for resolution through integrity and hard work. He has
19 years of mediation, arbitration and litigation experience handling complex cases and issues involving contracts, policy and procedure, administration, business, construction, products, personal injury, medical malpractice, homeowner association, employment, property/real estate, environmental toxic torts/pollution, and insurance. Mr. Kirwin is a University of California certified mediator; a California Superior Court appointed mediator, arbitrator and judge pro tem.
He has preformed international aid negotiation and coordination in India, Thailand, Cambodia, Peru, Dominican Republic and Haiti. Mr. Kirwin works on climate change dispute resolution issues at the United Nations Climate Change Treaty Negotiations.
Mr. Kirwin was born in Bermuda. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History with honors from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He received his Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law. Mr. Kirwin is married and has two children. He performs humanitarian field work as the founder of the Kirwin International Relief Foundation and is the Asian Coordinator and the Executive Director of Climate Change for Mediators Beyond Borders.
